HANNON JOINS LEADERS FOR ANTI-TERROR SUMMIT TO PROTECT AREA AIRPORTS AND RAILROAD STATIONS
With an increase of terrorist activity abroad, legislative leaders are increasing security and law enforcement at mass transit sites in the New York City region. Senator Kemp Hannon (R-Nassau) joined Governor Cuomo and Legislative Leaders at a recent meeting to announce a coordinated increase in security and law enforcement personnel at mass transit sites in the New York City region. NYC continues to be a high-profile terrorist target as well as a top destination for travelers, and is a precautionary effort. The Division of Military & Naval Affairs, New York Police Department and other authorities will add anti-terror police and K-9 resources to LaGuardia and JFK Airports, as well as Penn Station and railroad stations on the LIRR.
