Senator Hannon: Have a Heart Healthy Year!
Did you know that heart disease is the leading cause of death in the United States? In fact, nearly 2,200 Americans die of cardiovascular disease each day.
Senator Kemp Hannon wants to help you have a heart healthy year! By educating yourself on the causes and dangers of heart disease, you can get on your way to living a healthier life.
February is dedicated to raising awareness about heart disease and spreading knowledge about how to prevent it. Becoming heart healthy means knowing that your small everyday choices matter. Your family history, blood pressure, blood cholesterol, weight, physical activity, exposure to tobacco smoke, if you have diabetes, and even the birth control measures you choose can have an affect on your risk of heart disease.
Remember to wear red on Friday, February 4, for National Wear Red Day for Women. Make it your mission to fight heart disease in women. Get healthy, save lives and educate the ones you love by wearing red and living a longer heart-healthy life.
