Senator Hannon Praises Uniondale Resident's Extraordinary Work
George Williams Jr. is a local resident of Uniondale with an extremely unique talent. He constructs models using your everyday household objects. “Each model has been constructed from materials located in the house, basement, workshop and sometimes in the street,” said Williams.
Williams has donated some of his models to the Uniondale Public Library to allow the community to enjoy his art. The model that can be viewed on the main floor of the library is a model of the village of Uniondale, including some local shops and homes. The model on the lower level of the library consists of various ships.
“I have seen these magnificent pieces of art during my many visits to the Uniondale Library,” said Senator Kemp Hannon. “George’s work is a prime example of the tremendous talent that lies within the Uniondale community,” Hannon continued.
Williams constructs his models with merely using small tools such as a pocketknife and razor blades.
